So, you want to beat the legend
All credit goes to DaC from tppc
Introduction:
Yes, gone are the days that you could walk in with any old 1k and five Ghosts and walk out with your new legendary dog (or three) within half an hour. Nevertheless, the TPPC Legend is still definitely doable. Now I present the new method of beating it
The Team of Choice:
Giratina level 1000; Item: Leftovers
Giratina level 1000; Item: Leftovers
Giratina level 1000; Item: Leftovers
Giratina level 1000; Item: Leftovers
Giratina level 1000; Item: Leftovers
Giratina level 1000; Item: Leftovers
Any set over 1k works, though the levels of all of the Giratinas should be fairly close in order to ensure a better chance of success. I have not tried this strategy with any set under 1k though.
Moves:
Giratinas 1-5: Toxic/Fly/Nightshade/Doublekick
Giratina 6: Toxic/Fly/Nightshade/IceBeam
*Note: It's been awhile since I beat the Legend so I think the movesets might not be perfect. Feel free to suggest moves to help me revise the moves.
**Other moves you might want to try: Gigadrain (to leech health off of Kyogre), Dig (perhaps to deal some more consistent damage to Metagross), Seismictoss (more accurate than Nightshade and deals consistent damage). The moves suggested above are probably best though.
Strategy:
Munchlax: Doublekick
Rayquaza: Switch to the 6th Giratina and Icebeam
Metagross: Nightshade
GoldenLugia: Toxic then Nightshade
ShinyKyogre: Toxic then Fly/Nightshade
ShinyGroudon: Toxic then Fly
The key thing to note when trying to beat the Legend is that you want to get to Groudon with all six Giratinas still intact. Quite frankly, it is better to go to Groudon with all six of your Giratinas at 1 HP than just four full-health Giratinas. Whenever you feel that one of your Giratinas is in danger of getting killed pretty soon, use Fly and switch to a new Giratina on the next turn. This keeps the first Giratina locked into Fly, which is useful when you're stalling out Toxic turns on Groudon.
Credits and Conclusion:
DaC for coming up with the original idea of this guide and making it.
GummiOverload for helping me test this guide and (I think) he might be providing screenshots.
You for reading this guide.
If you feel like you should be in the credits but got omitted, please let me know! If you have questions, comments, etc., feel free to post in this thread. Good luck in your quest for legendary dogs
